Our Mission

To work towards bringing together various community groups and Associations of Indian origin operating in New Zealand under one umbrella.

To support and assist new migrants from India in settling down suitably in New Zealand and to ensure that these persons have full access to the mainstream social and health services required for a good quality of life.

To ensure that people of Indian origin are aware of the availability of the community based care and residential care services and that they understand how to obtain these services.

To organise functions to celebrate various festivals of India and to commemorate important national events.

To provide interpreting services for persons of Indian origin who have no or little knowledge of English.

To set-up separate wings for senior citizens, women, youth and children of Bhartiya Samaj.

To provide counselling services for people of Indian origin to provide an environment that meets their physical, emotional and social needs.

To organise events including sports for the people of Indian origin to provide an environment that meets their emotional and social needs.

To interact and co-operate with other community organizations for the development of healthy and conducive relations.

To advocate on behalf of disadvantaged persons of Indian origin not able to advocate for them and provide any such legal assistance required ensuring just and fairing treatment to them.

To teach Indian languages to the students of Indian origin.

To engage in support and promote any such other objectives that help in the fulfilment and achievement of above-mentioned objectives at large.

To set-up an Indian Community Centre.

To set up a “Culturally appropriate Rest Home” for the South Asian communities.
